Welcome/Introductions and apologies:  Nothing to report

 

Approval of minutes from last meeting: First aid training to be added, LW will find out further information from other surgeries.

 

Actions of minutes from last meeting: 

 

·         Privacy screen for waiting room:  C/F from last meeting.  LW updated all that an external company who are responsible for the leaflets will reposition when next in – LW will chase.

 

·         Media Screen:  Information regarding local support groups have now been uploaded onto the screen. PPG to send any information they may have to the practice to review.  JM to design a poster for the YMCA walking group for us to upload.

 

  • Breast Screening – JC designed poster to promote breast screening. JC discussed with the public re breast screening, a lot of women found it uncomfortable etc. Statistics here for patients attending breast screening can vary.

 

  • Diagnostic Centre in The Belfry – will be opening in October. CT scans, ultrasounds etc will be done here (MRI scans will not be available here until next year), will take pressure of hospitals. Only hospitals will be able to refer patients here. We will provide more information in our newsletter once we are aware.

Update from Practice -

·         New GP – Dr Byrone Mitchell has joined the team and will be working Monday/Weds (half a day)/Thurs/Fri.

·         Dr Nada Fanous (GP) - Currently on maternity leave

·         PSA – New PSA will be joining us

·         ANP - Role had been offered but candidate unfortunately withdrew last minute due to personal circumstances, still actively recruiting

 

AI

This should have started in June but due to Governance issues did not go ahead, hoping to be going ahead by October/November

 

Autumn Covid/Flu Clinics

Main clinic will be held on Saturday 4th October 08:30-14:00.  PPG have kindly offered to help with this. Nurses will have additional clinics after this date.

 

GP patient survey Results

Overall results – Good.  (Above local and national average).

Areas of improvements will be discussed in our clinical meetings and with the PPG at a further date.

 

Support for carers

WS (care Coordinator) is our carers champion – any ideas for support from PPG members i.e. coffee mornings for carers (PPG will look into).

 

Government Emergency Alert on mobile phones:

Sunday 7th September at 3pm – put phones in airplane mode/turn off if do not want alert to sound.
